BTi Resources

BTI supplies Creighton Rock Drill with a range of Rockbreaker Systems suited to different breaking applications, such as recycling, aggregates, and light-high rock breaking. A BTI Rockbreaker System can increase your quarry’s production by up to 20% while making your work environment a much safer place.

Grizzly Rockbreaker Applications

applications-grizzly

Underground mining operations typically use a steel grate called a grizzly to size material before it enters an ore pass. Material that is too large cannot pass through the openings in the grizzly and are left on top of the grizzly to be broken by a Rockbreaker, while the smaller material is allowed to pass through the grizzly down the ore pass.
Grizzly applications are extremely harsh by nature. The boom is subject to high degrees of in-line and side raking, combined with various sizes and amounts of oversize. BTI’s grizzly booms are designed with wide boom cross sections, extra large pins and reinforced high tensile steel plates. All designed to handle complex loading to the boom.

Grizzly Coverage:

The boom you choose to carry the selected breaker depends on its ability to provide full coverage of the area where material will require breaking, racking or clearing.

Gyratory Crusher Rockbreaker Applications

applications-gyratory

Big jobs need big booms and breakers. BTI’s wide range of gyratory booms allow full breaker coverage within the rock box and mouth of the Crusher. BTI’s complete line of large hammers are designed specifically for gyratories to quickly eliminate any bridging or clogging, restoring consistent material flow to the crusher.

The gyratory crusher is the mainstay of medium to large duty crushing plants. Typically material is brought to the crusher by large haulage trucks and dumped into a rock box. The gyratory crusher is located at the bottom of the rock box. Material is crushed between the eccentrically mounted rotating crushing cone and the fixed, tapered crushing throat.

The Rockbreaker is typically mounted in-line with the upper support of the rotating cone called the spider. This provides superior maneuverability of the Rockbreaker within the gyratory throat. The boom is typically sized to allow full range of motion over the working range of the rock box. The reach should be deep enough to allow the breaker to enter the gyratory for material breaking and concave removal applications.

 Crusher Coverage:

The vertical breaker coverage zone shown in the gray area has superior maneuverability and performance allowing the boom and breaker to operate without subjecting the boom to undue stress. The boom should be sized so the majority of breaking and raking operations can be done within the zone of the vertical breaker coverage zone.

The boom you choose to carry the selected breaker depends on its ability to provide full coverage of the area where material will require breaking, racking or clearing.

Mobile Rockbreaker Applications

applications-mobile

Mobile crushers are, as the name implies, designed to be moved from site to site. An appropriate sized breaker system will mount on the crusher securely so the crusher can be moved without first dismantling the breaker assembly yet be large enough to handle the raking and breaking.

Stationary Rockbreaker Applications

applications-stationary

Jaw crushers are typically used in many medium duty primary crushing applications. A fixed jaw plate opposite and moving jaw plate size the material through as it passes from the top to the bottom of the crusher. The jaw crusher is typically fed from a rock box by a vibrating feeder.
A rock breaker should be positioned to assist with raking rocks into the crusher, reduce oversize, and to be able to reach into the crusher to assist with processing and clearing jams.
