The Moley 2-in-1 Sorting Claw Magnet is a Fully Enclosed Hydraulic Scrap Magnet (ESA) with claws on each side ideally suited for ferrous scrap recycling and the demolition industry. Designed for easy installation, complete with an enclosed system where the pump, generator, and control box are mounted on top of the magnet. The magnet features a robust steel shell with mounted generator, pump, and controls on top. Quick installation involves connecting two hydraulic lines and a lifting chain.

Operated by ESA Generators on bucket or auxiliary Hydraulic Lines, the magnet is controlled via joystick, foot pedal, or auxiliary switch. For bucket line installation, a “free flow return line” is necessary. A must-have for recycling service providers, this design boosts scrap metal recovery, increasing productivity while reducing downtime.

OilQuick Install

In the month of November our mechanics worked hand in hand with our customer Hard-Co Construction. Together CRD and Hard-Co worked on another multi day job of installing their new OilQuick Automatic Quick Coupler System to their machine.

The Job

Hard- Co Construction Is Based Out Of Whitby Ontario. Serving The Durham And Surrounding Areas Their High Reputation For Quality Work Is Well Founded And Deserved. Hard-Co Brought In Their Brand New CAT 315 Hydraulic Excavator To Be Equipped With An OilQuick OQ 65. The OQ 65 Is Designed For A Medium Sized Excavator Within The 8-18 T Range.

The System

The OilQuick Automatic Quick Coupler Attachment is a product that is gaining popularity quickly. It allows for the operator to change an attachment in just 10-20 seconds! This allows the machine to always be equipped with the right tool to tackle every job situation. Not only does this increase the machines versatility and efficiency, but also it’s profitability as well as operator safety.

Though the system is phenomenal in its own right, there are other supplements and options that can be added onto the unit. These add-ons are for extra security or specific needs such as a high power connection for a magnet, a lock support and much more. This allows for a more customized attachment while also keeping the costs down on the initial coupler system.

The Process

The first step is of course to purchase an OilQuick system, and have a machine available you wish to turn into a Swiss Army Knife. Once ready the pro couplers are then mounted. After the couplers are ready the wiring is completed for the hydraulic lock kit as well as the depressurization kit. Once complete the valves for the mount lock and the depressurization valve are installed, followed by plumbing for both. The last step is to install the lock switch in the cab, test and you are complete! Now this of course is a very simple and brief explanation of the steps involved. There are numerous steps throughout the process that on average will take two days to complete.

May 25 2016, Creighton Rock Drill partnered with Snow Brothers in Garth Snow’s shop in Erin Ontario to have a small demo showcasing the Oilquick Automatic Quick Coupler and a number of different attachments.
These attachments included a Drumcutter ER1500X, an excavator bucket along with a Hartl crusher and screener.

Martin Hartl of HARTL Crusher was in attendance at the Demo watching his machines crush and screen the rock into a few different piles with ease while providing some direction and advice on the machines to the very skilled operator who had little familiarity with the machines before the demo.

Customers who came out included employees from the companies; Aecon, Geosolv, Hard-Co, J. Jenkins, Miller Paving & RWC Contracting, also attending the demo were our friends Nathan Medcalf from Equipment Journal and Jethro Horca from the Supply Post.
