The Gatorback from AmCana is ideal for environmental, water wells, mining and geothermal drilling. It is perfect for soft-medium and soft only formation such as overburden, shale, sand, tills and clay. The Gatorback bit runs most efficiently at a slow or medium speed which is beneficial to drilling equipment as it results in less stress and strain on the machine.  The bits have a longer lifespan than the conventional bits, which also do not require any lubrication in order to keep working as there are no bearings in the bit; with no moving parts it is less likely to leave clutter and pieces in the hole.
